Working at Pennine View

Staff say there aren't enough of them and sharing staff between floors leaves residents vulnerable.

Staff felt staffing levels did not reflect the needs of the people being supported. Staff also expressed concerns that staff were shared between floors of the home which made people vulnerable.

Staff lack training to handle residents who get distressed and might harm themselves or others.

Staff felt they did not always have the skills to support all the people living at Pennine View, as they lacked the training to support some people who displayed distress that could lead to harm.

Medication mistakes like missed dose changes, delays starting new meds, and food allergies not spotted put residents at risk.

There was a delay in starting a new prescribed nutritional supplement, and another where a medicines dose change had not been made... Records indicated 2 people were allergic to specific foods. Both people had meals that contained these foods.
