Working at Pathway House

Staff enjoyed working at the service and felt well supported by the management team. They had regular discussions and supervisions... Staff were positive and complimentary about their colleagues and how well they worked together.

There were enough staff to support people safely... Staff told us there were enough staff to support people and people’s assessed staffing levels were adhered to at all times. A relative said, ‘The staff know my [family member] well now and it has been settled for a little while.’

Staff had the training they needed to support people and their competency to support people was checked after their training. Staff were knowledgeable about their training, particularly in relation to supporting autistic people and people living with learning disabilities.

Staff told us the management team were approachable and included them in discussion about the service and how best to support people. The registered and deputy manager had an ‘open door policy’.

The management and staff team fully understood the importance of STOMP... staff supported people to access the local community... gym and swimming pool... pictorial timetables... pictures of meals... books full of pictures of people being supported with their preferences.
