People felt safe... All staff had received safeguarding training. Staff knew how to recognise abuse... Risk assessments were consistent and clear... An effective system was in place to record individual incidents and accidents.
There was a positive culture amongst staff at the service. Staff commented, 'We are a family, we are very supportive of each other from the chef, to care workers.'
Both people and staff felt that there were enough staff on a day to day basis to support people's needs. We saw staff responded to people's request in a timely manner for support during the day of the inspection.
The services mandatory training was not in line with best practice for social care staff. Staff had not received training in how to care for people living with a learning disability or autism.
The registered manager was able to demonstrate quality assurance systems were used effectively to monitor and improve quality and safety in the service. Staff said they were able to raise any issues and they felt listened to by managers.
