Not enough nursing staff during busy times like mornings and medicine rounds, leaving nurses stretched and care rushed.

Some staff felt there was not enough staff, in particular in the mornings and during medicine rounds. We observed there to only be one nurse on duty on both days of the site visit.

Medication handling has gaps like late or unrecorded doses and creams applied wrong, plus weak risk assessments for choking or hoisting.

Medicines were not always stored and administered safely, and we found records to be lacking in detail... Risk assessments were not always robust and didn’t always contain enough detail.

Manager is approachable but quality audits missed safety risks, medicine issues and dignity lapses found by inspectors.
