People were kept safe. Staff knew how to raise safeguarding concerns and how to report them appropriately. Records showed medicines were managed safely.

Staff were positive in their comments about the management of the home. They told us there was an open and welcoming culture, focussed on achieving high standards of person-centred care.

Appropriate numbers of staff were on duty to meet people's needs.

Staff received training in a wide range of core areas such as first aid, the safe administration of medicines, infection control, safeguarding and food hygiene.

Staff members told us the registered manager was approachable and very supportive. One staff member said, 'They are always available to consult with when needed and they are supportive to us when we ask for advice or support.'

People told us they were supported to pursue the social interests and activities that were important to them. We noted activities were wide and varied and people spoke enthusiastically about them.
