No permanent manager in post yet, so leadership oversight has gaps like in medication checks.

The service did not have a manager registered with the Care Quality Commission at the time of inspection. Although the provider had appointed a manager, who had begun the process of registration.

Medication recording issues spotted, like unsigned changes and missing carry-over amounts.

Staff practice surrounding medication administration records did not always comply with the providers policy, nor best practice requirements. Handwritten amendments to the medication administration records were not always signed and carried forward amounts of medications were not always documented.

Only basic activities like nail painting and memory boxes, no coordinator or varied programme to make the job more interesting.

Activities were planned and varied. People had individual memory boxes for reminiscence, and staff spent time with people to ensure activities were meaningful. For example, activities took place in people's bedrooms... One person told us they liked to have their nails painted and hand massage was offered.
