"Staff feel well supported by management with good training and supervision, but a staff vacancy and basic activities hold it back."
The person was protected from harm as the provider had robust processes in place to ensure their safety... The registered manager supported staff to learn from incidents and accidents to reduce the risks of reoccurrence.
There was an open and transparent culture in the service where people were listened to and staff were valued. Staff told us they were well supported by the management team and felt they could talk to the registered manager about any issues they may have.
During this inspection we saw the levels of staff met the needs of the person living at the service... staff we spoke with told us although there was a staff vacancy they worked together to ensure shifts were covered. This meant the person received care from a consistent group of staff and no agency staff had been required to cover shifts.
We saw staff had completed or received update training for 95% of the training modules the provider had considered necessary... Staff also told us they had received regular support from the registered manager through supervision.
The registered manager was visible and supportive... Staff told us they were well supported by the management team and felt they could talk to the registered manager about any issues they may have. One member of staff said, 'Yes she (registered manager) does her job, she is easy to speak to, always helping out and pointing us in the right direction.'
The person was encouraged to undertake social activities of their choice... These activities included going out for a meal or a drive, seeing his relatives, shopping trips or activities within the home such as cooking or watching television.
No activities coordinator or special programmes, so the job is mostly routine care with basic outings like shopping and meals.

Leadership is getting better but not proven it can handle more residents without issues coming back.
Although care had improved we were unable to see the sustainability required at this time... only one person now lived at the service which is registered for a maximum of six people.
