"Staff feel supported by a proactive manager and people are kept safe, but no registered manager in place and occasional single staffing hold it back."
People were protected from abuse because staff understood how to keep them safe... People received their medicines safely. However, we did not find mental health care plans for two people using the service who had mental health issues.
Staff told us they felt the manager was very proactive and acted and listened on any concerns the staff team raised. One staff member said, 'She hasn't been here long, but she's really very good.'
Care workers told us there were usually two of them on duty, but there were occasions where there was only one member of staff on duty. They considered this to be too low, but explained they could always contact another staff member if they required further assistance.
Staff received training to ensure they had the skills and knowledge required to effectively support people. There was an induction programme for new staff... However, care staff had not received regular, formal supervision sessions in approximately six months.
At the time of our inspection there was no registered manager at the service. The previous manager had recently left the service and a new manager had been appointed and was working at the service when we visited.
People were supported to engage in activity programmes... People were supported to access the community by going to places of their choice such as the local shops, the gym, or cinema or a London attraction.
No permanent manager in place yet, even though a new one has started.

No activities coordinator or special programmes, so the role is mostly routine care plus some outings.
