Not enough staff on shift, only two for 20 residents and one often left covering three floors alone while doing medication, drinks and meals.

The staff rota showed 2 staff on duty each day. However, the staff had additional tasks to do each day, often leaving 1 staff to oversee 3 floors. Other tasks included, administering medicines, making drinks, and preparing the evening meals. This meant people could be placed at risk.

Only basic activities like trips, entertainers and Christmas events with no dedicated coordinator or more varied programme.

people had activities arranged including trips out into the community, entertainers coming into the service, and activities arranged by staff. One person said, “I’m very impressed with the Christmas programme (of activities).”

Only standard training to cover the basics, no specialist courses or development opportunities mentioned.

Training records confirmed staff had attended relevant training to their role.
