Staff told us they felt there were sufficient staffing levels to meet people’s care needs. People said... there were enough staff to meet their needs.
Staff told us they received safeguarding training... Staff training helped to ensure care workers kept up to date with legislation around good practice, such as moving and handling and skin integrity.
The registered manager and deputy manager provided leadership at the service. Staff said they were listened to and supported by managers at the home.
Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: People were supported to engage in activities which they enjoyed. The service had forged links with the local community and people looked forward to visits from school children.
Staffing is adequate but fewer staff on weekends and no one in charge of the shift when managers are off.
One relative commented 'If I have visited during the week, there seem to be staff around, but there are definitely fewer if I go at weekends.' ... there was no member of staff taking responsibility... when the registered manager or deputy were not present
One safeguarding concern was not passed to the council and some incidents like injuries were not always told to the regulator.
We found 1 incident had not been referred. The provider had not ensured we had consistently been notified of all events they were required to tell us about... such as injuries and safeguarding concerns.

In discussion with the registered manager, we found there were no checks carried out to ensure staff were competent to carry out safe moving and handling practices.
