Although the temperature of the medicines storage area was monitored, records showed the temperature was recorded as over 25 degrees Celsius on 29 occasions since January 2025. The provider had addressed our feedback.
Staff told us there was an open culture and they felt valued and respected. They spoke positively about the management team and told us they felt valued and listened to.
People were supported by a consistent staff team, who had worked at the service for long periods of time and knew them very well. At the time of the inspection, we were told no agency staff were used.
Staff received effective training, support, supervision and development. One staff member said, “Supervisions are around ten times a year, they come around so quickly. They do appraisals as well.”
The registered manager was visible. People and their relatives knew who the registered manager was and spoke highly of her. Staff spoke highly of the registered manager and the management team as a whole.
There was an activities programme in place, supported by internal and external activities. On both days of the inspection, we observed a variety of activities that people were encouraged to take part in.
Medication room temperature went over safe levels many times and checks did not spot it, though they fixed it right away.
