Working at Newland House

Medicines were managed and administered to people safely. Risks to people's health and well-being were assessed, recorded and managed appropriately. Staff were aware how to raise safeguarding concerns.

There were enough staff to keep people safe. Staff told us there was enough staff. One staff member said, 'We're not short staffed, if we have agency we book the same people [agency workers]'.

Staff received training relevant to their roles. Training provided reflected the standards of the Care Certificates. 'Training is 100%, had plenty of refreshers and more is booked'.

People had access to the activities provision that recognised their needs and abilities. This area was led by an activity co-ordinator who knew people's needs very well. We observed an art activity.
