"Supportive management and positive staff culture with good training and activities, but medicines safety issues and inconsistent staffing hold it back."
PRN protocols were still generic... staff had administered the medicines [homely remedies] to staff on duty and to visitors rather than just people living at the service.
Staff feedback was positive, noting improvements... Staff told us they felt valued and supported in their roles... morale and teamwork had improved. Staff told us they were encouraged to raise concerns.
People gave mixed feedback about staffing levels. Although some people told us they had no concerns, others told us they sometimes had to wait for staff... at times staff were hard to locate.

PRN protocols were still generic. For example, we looked at protocols for 3 people who were prescribed medicine for periods of agitation or anxiety. All 3 protocols were the same... staff had administered the medicines to staff on duty and to visitors rather than just people living at the service.

People gave mixed feedback about staffing levels... others told us they sometimes had to wait for staff... at times staff were hard to locate. Some people told us that when they used their call bell, staff would switch the bell off and then return as soon as they were free.
Wound care records are not fully up to scratch with unclear photos and inconsistent measurements making it hard to track progress.
Some photographs of wounds we looked at were unclear. Staff had photographed some wounds from different angles on different occasions and wound measuring tools were still inconsistently in use.
