Staff received a comprehensive induction and training programme and received regular support and supervision from senior staff. Staff told us, 'If we want to do something additional (training) we can ask and they (management) always find something we can go on.'
Staff spoke positively about the management team and felt they were approachable and supportive. One staff member said, 'Working here I've learnt so many new things. The manager and deputy are very supportive.'
The Provider and registered manager had developed a programme called 'Hopes and Dreams'. Staff sat with the person and identified things they would dearly wish to do and then worked to make this happen... Examples included patrol with police, fire service, spa day... Community partnerships with schools and swimming pool access.
Staffing levels are adequate so people don't have to wait long, but agency workers are used sometimes with no info on staff retention or low turnover.
