Working at Mornington Hall Care Home

People were safeguarded... risk assessments... detailed medicines management system... few items requiring opening date had none... minor discrepancies in controlled drugs records... recommendation... system to learn lessons from accidents.

Staff told us all staff were treated equally and the management were supportive and responsive. Staff said managers and staff worked well together as a team... provider promoted a positive culture which was inclusive, open and empowering.

Records showed staff were up to date with training in health and safety topics such as first aid, food safety, infection control... dementia awareness and mental health awareness... supported with regular supervision and an annual appraisal.

People, relatives and staff spoke positively about the leadership... Staff told us they were reassured by the management... 'We can go to [registered manager] and talk to them at any time. There is that comfort' and open door policy.

People had access to a range of activities including outside entertainers... activities co-ordinator... word games, singing, clapping, dancing... garden activities... spiritual leader... personal trainer... in-house cinema.
