Working at Millreed Lodge Care Home

Risks associated with people's care and support had been identified and actions were in place to minimise risks occurring. People's medicines were managed safely... Very few incidents had occurred and there had been no major or serious injuries.

Staff told us they worked well together as a team and were complimentary about the support they received from the management team.

There was enough staff to keep people safe. We observed staff constantly interacting with people and there were enough staff available to ensure people received timely care.

Staff received the necessary training and support which gave them the knowledge to carry out their roles and responsibilities. Staff told us they received a thorough induction which comprised of mandatory training and shadowing experienced staff.

There was an activities coordinator and we saw various activities taking place such as games and puzzles and singalongs. An activities weekly planner was available... new initiative where a local school had been invited to assist with making new bird boxes.
