The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. Medicines were managed well and people received annual reviews of their prescribed medicines from the pharmacist.

People and their relatives told us there were enough staff to meet people's needs. One person told us, “There’s enough staff you can usually find someone no problem”

Staff completed safeguarding training and were able to describe how they would recognise signs of abuse. Staff had received medication training, and their knowledge and competency assessed.

The registered manager was experienced and knowledgeable. They knew people and staff well. Staff told us, “The manager is very nice. They treat everyone the same and encourages everyone to work as a team”.

People engaged in keep fit classes, baking and quizzes. The local community were invited to attend some events including a weekly café group, salsa dancing, yoga and children’s cinema. The activities co-ordinator is fantastic.”
