Working at Middlesbrough Grange

Medicines were managed safely... but records around the application of creams and lotions were not robust. We found one safeguarding incident... not reported to the local safeguarding team or CQC.

There was a positive atmosphere in the home and staff enjoyed their jobs. Staff told us they felt supported... 'Management were fantastic during the pandemic. They were reassuring and supportive'

There were enough suitably trained staff to safely support people. People and relatives told us there were enough staff. Comments included... '[Staff] are very busy but there are enough'

Staff had the right training... 'The training is excellent and if there is anything else we want, we just have to ask.' Staff were supported through regular supervisions and appraisals.

There was a clear management structure... Communication between management and staff... was good. Management sought feedback from people and acted upon this.

People were supported to take part in meaningful activities. Staff engaged people with one to one activities and group events such as day trips to the seaside, garden parties, and entertainers.
