Not enough staff on duty, so people and families say they wait a long time for call bells and help with washing or bed.

The majority of people and their relatives we spoke with told us they felt the service was short staffed. People referred to having to wait for call bells to be answered, that they felt staff were poorly organised and that staff told them they were short.

Leaders missed important problems like skin risks and staffing complaints until inspectors raised them.

The provider was not aware of people’s poor experiences in relation to staffing levels until we informed them. Although weekly clinical risk reviews took place, these had not identified the ongoing risks to people around skin integrity.

Skin damage risks not managed well day to day, with gaps in wound photos and position change records.

day to day wound care records were not always completed in full. For example, not all wounds had been photographed at every dressing change... position change charts did not always show that care plan guidance was followed.
