Enough improvement had been made at this inspection and the provider was no longer in breach of regulation 12... the provider had taken actions to properly assess and mitigate a wide range of potential risks to people's safety and welfare.
We noted significant improvements in the home's culture and staff morale... Staff were proud of their home and their colleagues and said how they enjoyed working with their provider. One staff member told us, 'I enjoy working here now, I want to be here'.
Staffing levels met the needs of people in the home at the time of our visit... the home had recruited a number of new staff over the past year. Management said the only vacancy at the time of the inspection was now for a kitchen assistant role.
There was effective oversight of staff skills and competency and a comprehensive training programme in place... Staff said they had received training in understanding dementia, falls management, behaviour management and medication management. Alongside mandatory training the management had introduced additional training.
Staff spoke positively about the changes and improvements in the service. They felt supported by the management team.
Activity coordinators positively supported people with a range of planned group activities throughout each day. We saw one music and gentle exercise session which was being enjoyed by a group of people.
The manager is applying to register and not yet officially in post, so leadership stability is still developing.
The service had a manager who was applying to be registered with the Care Quality Commission.
