Protecting people from abuse was a priority at the service. There were effective systems, processes and practices to make sure people were protected from abuse. People received their medicines safely and as prescribed.
There was a culture of speaking up without fear of detriment and acted on. Staff were positive about their work and felt involved, listened to and supported in their role.
There was enough skilled staff to safely meet the needs of people. During the on-site assessment, we observed staff had the time to speak with people individually and took the time to listen and responded positively to their requests.
Staff received training for their roles, their competency was checked and they received regular updates on current practice.
The registered manager welcomed feedback and acted on concerns. Complaints and concerns were acted on and any lessons learnt was shared with staff.
