No activities programme or coordinator, so the role is mostly routine personal care.

The manager explained that they wanted to improve activities provision and described their plans to do this. For example, they told us that when the activities staff member was required to cover care duties additional funds were available for external entertainers.

Staffing is adequate but nothing special, residents sometimes wait for help.

Most people and family members felt there were sufficient staff available to meet people’s needs in a timely manner. However, another person said, “I think they are short of staff sometimes”, and a family member told us it was sometimes “hard to find a staff member”.

No permanent manager in place yet.

Although there was no registered manager at the time of this inspection the manager had submitted an application to CQC to commence the process to becoming the registered manager.
