"Staff feel supported with good training and supervision, but no registered manager in post and occasional agency staff hold it back."
Staff understood and managed risks well... However, we did find some inconsistent information and recording in people’s medicine records... There were no missed medications and no evidence anyone had come to harm.
Staff felt supported and valued by their leaders and colleagues... Staff comments included, “I've been working very closely with the team leaders and they're supporting me” and “I’ve had a few ideas, and I have seen them be implemented.”
Staff told us there were enough staff on shift... Agency staff sometimes worked at the home to cover shortfalls in staffing, where they did appropriate employment checks had been completed.
Managers made sure staff received training and regular supervision to maintain high-quality care. Staff were trained in a range of areas, this included training in the specific needs of people they supported.
At the time of our inspection there was not a registered manager in post. The previous registered manager had recently transferred their manager’s registration to a different home owned by the same provider.
People told us they were able to choose how they spent their time and take part in activities they enjoyed. Attempts were made to engage people in a range of activities. Some people made clear choices about not doing these. One person attended college and was part of a local forum.
No permanent manager in post right now, as the previous one moved to another home run by the same company.
