Working at Lighthouse

People were protected from the risk of harm and abuse. Staff were well trained and demonstrated an excellent knowledge; risks were well managed with support for everyday risks to enhance independence; lessons learnt from incidents.

Staff consistently told us that Lighthouse was a good place to work and said they felt supported and well trained. They shared the managements vision to provide people with the skills and confidence to control their lives.

Staffing levels were consistently good and allowed staff capacity to enable people to have regular access into the local community. The management team had built a stable and consistent staff team.

Staff told us, and the records confirmed that they had received a wide range of training that enabled them to care for people and give them a better quality of life including autism, epilepsy and challenging behaviour.

The registered manager was inspirational, and provided staff with small cash bonuses for good performance. They also said that staff would receive gift vouchers for 'a job well done'.

People participated in yoga, zumba, bike riding, public transport, clubs, nightclubs, restaurants, annual holidays abroad, charity work, horse riding, theatre trips, pet rabbit care, and volunteer placements with measurable progress like reduced medication.
