Working at Laverstock Care Centre

Staff numbers are mostly enough but drop when someone calls in sick last minute, and one relative felt there weren't enough.

If staff phoned in to report sickness at short notice, there were times when numbers were lower than planned. One relative told us they did not feel there were enough staff but did not think this impacted on their relative’s care.

Training covers basics like induction and updates with good completion rates, but no specialist courses or funded qualifications.

An induction was provided which included completing the Care Certificate for all new care staff. Ongoing training was provided.

There is a regular activities programme with a coordinator and varied events, but no specialist or innovative approaches.

Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: Activity staff were employed and planned a programme of events, activities and outings... regular clubs... national celebrations.
