Safeguarding procedures were well understood... Risk assessments detailed and specific... Medicines managed safely with no errors, regular audits and competence checks.

The culture was completely inclusive... Regular meetings... in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. Staff morale was high; staff cared passionately about their roles.

Turnover of staff remained low and staff morale was high. All staff had been at the service for several years; no new staff or agency staff used since last inspection.

Staff received ongoing training that was regularly reviewed... specialist training including Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and speech and language therapy... regular supervisions... train the trainer planned.

The registered manager had been in post for several years and demonstrated an excellent knowledge of the needs people. People spoke highly of the registered manager, as did staff.

Good community links... people encouraged to try new activities... cookery class, card craft class, karaoke events, local restaurants, theatre, cinema, hosting friends for parties.
