Staff numbers are usually enough but get stretched if someone calls in sick, like when a trip had to be cancelled.

On the day of inspection one staff member had called in sick which meant there was not enough staff to support a planned outing in the morning, so an alternative activity was provided within the home.

Some gaps in risk management for eating and drinking, with records not always up to date and specialist advice on food not fully followed.

Weight, diet and nutrition records were not always accurate and were not always updated in a timely manner. Guidance from specialist advisors regarding food was not consistently followed.

Only standard training and induction with supervisions, no funded qualifications or career development mentioned.

Staff received training to support them in their role... aligned to the Care Certificate... supervision took place.
