People were protected from harm by staff trained in safeguarding. Medicines managed safely. However, a stair gate risk had not been assessed initially for fire safety, though updated immediately.

Staff told us that they felt well supported and that staff morale was good. One staff member told us, 'If I had a child living here I would be more than happy, they are always at the front of every decision.'

People were supported by sufficient numbers of staff to meet their needs. Staff told us they worked on a supernumery basis until they completed their initial induction. Rota's enabled the staff to spend one to one time with people.

Staff received the necessary training required for the role. New staff had an in-depth induction which included the care certificate. Staff were given additional training when the need was identified, such as health and safety.

Staff told us, 'The management are good, supportive and approachable, they listen to us.' The registered manager told us, 'We work as a team and the provider supports us with whatever we need.'

People had activity plans in place that staff looked at several times during the day. Staff said, 'We have to ensure [person's name] has an active life and engages in lots of different activities.' Outside space included a trampoline.
