People were protected by a strong and distinctive approach to safeguarding, including positive risk-taking... There was an open and honest culture to support learning from errors.

Staff were very proud to work at the service... Staff told us it was an amazing team... We work like a family and laugh and smile and cry together.

Staffing levels were exceptionally good, and this allowed staff to be flexible and respond quickly to people's individual needs. Staff turnover was low and a number of staff had been with the service a long time.

Staff told us the training was excellent... hands on and innovative... The management team... helped to establish the role of nursing associates to support the registered nurses.

The service was exceptionally well-led. The registered manager demonstrated how their links with external professionals and community organisations had sustained continual development and improvement for people living at the service.

The service had achieved Butterfly status... participated in numerous university research projects, such as the use of music therapy... achieved Beacon status for end of life care.
