People were safe. A strong learning culture underpinned the service. Care plans had detailed risk assessments. Medicines were administered as prescribed.
Without exception, staff told us they were happy and supported at work. Staff comments included, “I’m really happy here”, “I feel really at home”, and, “I’ve definitely stayed because they are very supportive”.
Safe and effective staffing: The service made sure there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, who received effective support, supervision and development. All staff spoken with told us they were very well supported.
New staff received an induction which did not end until both them and the registered manager were confident in their abilities. Staff were knowledgeable about how to identify safeguarding concerns.
Without exception people, relatives and staff all provided positive feedback about the registered manager. The registered manager regularly worked alongside staff.
People commented about the activities they enjoyed, “They (staff) do lots of things with us, we don’t know what boredom is” and “We sing every day”. Loads of people do different crafts and support each other.
