Staff understood their roles and responsibilities in raising safeguarding concerns and following procedures. People received their medicines safely and as prescribed.
Staff told us, “The culture here is caring and supportive. In my opinion, everyone does their best to support the residents. Staff work together as a team to provide high-quality, person-centred care”.
Staffing rotas demonstrated staff levels were generally maintained to the current dependency tool. Some staff told us there were times when they felt staffing levels were not sufficient to meet people’s needs in a timely way.
Staff completed a comprehensive range of training to meet people’s needs. Training records showed staff were up to date with essential training in subjects such as moving and assisting and safeguarding.
Staff felt the management team were approachable, fair and supportive. The registered manager had a visible presence within the service and were available during our site visit.
Inspectors witnessed a group movement class being carried out by an external fitness professional... Inspectors also observed the use of Virtual Reality therapy (VR)... “[The staff] do lovely things... We have the animals around, the guinea pig.”
