No registered manager in post at inspection, new manager only started a week earlier.

At the time of our inspection there was not a registered manager in post. However, the provider had maintained a permanent manager presence at the home since the previous registered manager left the service shortly before the date of this inspection. A new manager had been in post for one week and had submitted an application to register.

Only standard induction and ongoing training like the Care Certificate, no specialist courses or funded qualifications.

Staff followed an induction programme, and training was on-going throughout employment. Training was aligned with the requirements of the Care Certificate.

Skin creams sometimes left accessible in bedrooms, risk someone eats them by mistake though fixed straight away.

Some people required topical creams and these were not always stored safely and were often left accessible in people's bedrooms. This meant there was a risk they could be wrongly ingested by people who didn't know what they were. We provided this feedback to the service, who took immediate action to ensure creams were managed safely.
