Medicines were managed safely overall, however some issues were identified during our visit, for example 1 risk management plan did not have clear guidance on when to call emergency services following a seizure.
The manager and our senior managers have consistently high standards, and this inspires the team to give the very best standard of care to our residents. It's what makes this home such a great place for our residents and for the staff too.
During our visit we observed there was enough staff on duty to meet people's needs. People received care and support in a timely manner and staff were attentive and not rushed when providing support.
The service worked with St Lukes Hospice and North London Hospice, they created a bespoke training program for clinical and non-clinical staff. This was done over a 2-year period, there were 20 end of life champions trained at the time of our visit.
Everyone we spoke with praised the management team. The home had won and been nominated for many prestigious awards including a double platinum in investors in people and a world class hospitality award.
'Oomph on demand' gave people and staff the opportunity to participate in their wellbeing and activities platform. This meant people had additional access to resources such as specialist activities and advise on nutrition, dementia, and mental health.
Some medication plans had unclear instructions on seizure response times and tube feeding, needing quick fixes during the inspection.
