The provider had not ensured all reportable safeguarding incidents were reported to CQC or/and the local authority safeguarding team. Staff did not always follow the guidance in care plans and risk assessments.
Staff felt supported and treated fairly by the management team. Staff told us they felt able to raise concerns and that they would be listened to.
We reviewed rotas and they were in line with the providers staffing calculations. We observed there was enough staff on to provide people with care and support. However, we had observed there was not always sufficient staff to provide activities or meaningful engagement with people.
Improvements had been made to the training staff received. The provider implemented more face-to-face training and followed this with observational checks to ensure staff were competent.
At time of our assessment there was not a CQC registered manager. The deputy manager was promoted to acting manager who told us they were going to become the CQC registered manager.
Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: People could access a wide range of activities... which included animal therapy, exercise sessions and visits from school children.
