People were protected from the risks of abuse and staff were trusted to keep them safe. Staff had received training in how to safeguard people... Medicines were administered safely and learning from audits applied.
Staff told us they had regular supervision and overall felt supported by the management team. One staff member said, “Yes I can raise any issues to managers and any suggestions we put in a suggestions box which is checked daily.”
However, the provider needed to continue to focus on recruitment, reducing agency usage and on providing a stable and regular staff team to ensure people had consistent and reliable support from staff that they knew well.
Staff had completed a range of mandatory and targeted training to ensure they could carry out their role safely and competently... training in mental capacity... Studio 3 training (a type of positive behaviour support training focussing on promoting low arousal).
The registered manager had good oversight of the service and was supported in their role by the provider. Where we noted issues during our visits the provider was responsive and actioned these immediately.
People were supported to make choices about how they spent their time and had opportunities to pursue different activities. These included leisure activities, going to places of interest and work experience.
