We reviewed 2 incidents where people had been assaulted by another person living in the home had not been notified appropriately.
Staff members we spoke with told us the home was a nice place to work, and said they could ask their manager for support, and felt the management team would respond appropriately in a timely manner.
We observed during our on-site visit there were enough staff to provide safe consistent care. Rotas confirmed this.
The registered manager had a training matrix in place which evidenced most staff had completed all their induction and their statutory and mandatory training... Where there was training still to be completed, the provider had a robust plan in place.
Prior to this inspection leaders had not independently identified and acted on concerns we found during this inspection. This meant some development was needed in their skills and knowledge to lead effectively.
The registered manager shared with us several ideas of how they wanted to improve people’s experience, these included introducing new activities both inside and outside of the home, however, time was needed for these newly introduced practices.
No activities programme yet, so the role is mostly routine personal care like helping with meals and daily choices.
