There were suitable risk assessments and an up to date IPC policy and procedure in place. There were emergency plans in place should an outbreak occur at the home. Staff had undertaken recent IPC training.

Staff were highly motivated... The atmosphere in the home was warm and very friendly... ensured the family feel of the home. 'Such a great place to work, I love it here.' Per 2018 comprehensive inspection.

The home was supported by a long standing, small and loyal staff team who knew the people they supported very well. No agency staff had been used since the beginning of the year as staff covered shifts if necessary.

Staff were encouraged and supported to specialise in certain areas. The home had 'champions' which included for oral hygiene, dementia, infection control and keeping up to date with evidence based best practice. Per 2018 comprehensive inspection.

The activities coordinator had linked up with a national retailers' Community Team who engaged in outreach work... themed cafes had been developed at the home. Per 2018 comprehensive inspection.
