The service now had a proactive and positive culture of safety, based on openness and honesty. They listened to concerns about safety and investigated and reported safety events. However, audits were not always effective in identifying where medicines errors may have been made.
The staff team seem to really gel and work well together. There is a really nice atmosphere and staff always look happy to be at work. Staff enjoyed working at the service and were positive about the support they had from the management team.
People and relatives told us there were enough staff to support them safely. They did not have to wait more than a minute or two for staff to support them and staff engaged with people frequently throughout the day.
Staff were knowledgeable about their training and spoke about what they had learned and how they used what they learned whilst supporting people. The management team completed competency assessments with staff to make sure training had been effective.
Staff told us they now had confidence in the management team and how they were being supported. They felt able to speak to the management team and knew their feedback and concerns would be dealt with effectively.
There is a new activities staff for the afternoons, and they are trying to do different things now. They also have a vicar that visits... bingo, quizzes and sing a longs.
