Working at Hill Barn Care Home

Staffing is adequate but people are sometimes left alone in lounges and recruitment files are incomplete.

During our inspection we observed people sitting in one of the lounges without staff present for most of the morning... Some improvements were needed to recruitment processes.

Some medication storage issues like out-of-date creams and unsecured items that could cause harm.

Most medicines were stored safely, however we found in one room, out of date topical creams... In another room we found a denture adhesive unsecured.

No consistent activities coordinator so activities like bingo and flower arranging are basic and staff-led.

Activity provision had been hampered by a lack of consistent activities coordinator.
