The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety... People were protected and kept safe from the risk of harm and abuse. Staff had received training in safeguarding and incidents were investigated and learnt from.
Staff were keen to tell us how they felt valued and how they worked well as a team. One member of staff told us, “I feel well supported. Managers are firm but fair, they are approachable."
Although we were assured the provider made sure there were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff, they were not always deployed effectively. We observed at busy times of the day, such as post lunch time, people were unsupervised for a length of time.
Staff told us they had regular supervisions and had completed all their training required for their role. Staff responsible for the management of medicines had completed the required training and their competency was routinely assessed.
We received positive feedback about the management team from people, their relatives and staff. Staff spoke positively about how supportive the provider and manager were.
