"Approachable management, positive culture and good training, but medication errors and night staffing shortages are concerns."
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: 'Medicines administered as prescribed, and errors acted upon' but 'minor incorrect dose of warfarin... medicine had not been given as intended by hospital discharge information'; good safeguarding and risk assessments
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: 'positive culture amongst the staff working in the home, and the staff we spoke with reported that they enjoyed working at the home and found it a supportive and rewarding environment'
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: 'There were enough staff to keep people safe... service used their own bank of staff to cover shifts in the event of staff absence'
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: 'Staff were supported to undertake further qualifications such as NVQs... additional training in continence, diabetes, dysphagia and dementia... regular supervisions'
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: 'good leadership and teamwork in place and the management team were approachable and accessible. The registered manager was known to everybody'
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: 'staff member dedicated to activities every day... activities coordinator... snakes and Shetland ponies visiting... trips to Cromer Zoo... interactive table'
Staff numbers are generally enough but they use bank staff to cover sickness and some residents said there were not always enough at night.
Two other people said that they felt there were not always enough staff at night... the service used their own bank of staff to cover shifts
A couple of medication errors happened like a wrong dose of blood thinner and not following hospital instructions.
Another person received a minor incorrect dose of anticoagulant medicine warfarin the day before the inspection which could have placed the person's health at risk... one of their medicines had not been given to them as intended by written information provided by the hospital
Varied activities with a coordinator and things like pet ponies and an interactive table but no specialist programmes or staff training in therapies to really enrich the role.
There was a staff member dedicated to activities every day of the week... interactive table... snakes and Shetland ponies... no mention of staff therapeutic training
