People were protected from the risk of harm and abuse. Managers reported concerns promptly to external agencies. Medicines systems were well-organised and the provider had improved clinical room temperature checking.
Staff that we spoke with were positive about the culture within the home... A member of staff said, 'I feel very supported by all the managers and senior nursing staff here. It’s a wonderful place to work.'
Over the past 6-12 months, there seems to be more stability in the management staffing and carers. The service currently had its full complement of nursing staff and managers used staffing dependency tools.
Staff received relevant training to support them in their roles and were knowledgeable about the topics they were trained in, such as supporting older people living with dementia. Training was refreshed at regular intervals.
The service now has a registered manager and two clinical lead nurses in post who ensure the care home is consistently well-led. Staff told us that both the registered manager and deputy were inclusive and had an open door policy.
Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: People were encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities... painting and drawing, gardening, animals visiting, singing, outings to cafes and park, exercises, Tai Chi.
