Working at Heanor Park Care Home

People were safe and protected from avoidable harm because staff knew how to identify and report any concerns relating to the risk of abuse. People received their prescribed medicines at the right time and there were systems in place to ensure these were safely managed.

Staff were proud of the service and felt well supported by the management team. Staff felt involved and confident to give feedback and make suggestions on improving care.

There were sufficient numbers of staff to meet the needs of people and to ensure their safety. Staff worked in different areas of the home and staffing levels were monitored for each area.

New members of staff completed an induction and were given the opportunity to complete the care certificate, to develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide people with safe and effective care. Staff received regular supervisions and appraisals.

Staff were proud of the service and felt well supported by the management team. The management team promoted strong values and people, relatives and staff felt the service was well managed.

There were dedicated activity staff who organised group and individual sessions in the home and to go out. We saw people laughing and enjoying organised events.
