Staff felt empowered and passionate about their roles and staff spoke with pride and passion about their roles. Comments from staff included, “The team around me is so supportive, no job is too big. Management or staff on the floor are so proactive”, “One of the best places I've worked at, I love it here they have been so supportive.”

Staff received holistic training which was bespoke to people’s needs and staff were always supported by leaders to ensure staff had the right skills to support people effectively. Staff completed training in several clinical areas, such as diabetes, dysphagia, nutrition and hydration and mental health.

Leaders were described as being exceptionally supportive to staff and visible in the service. Comments from staff included, “The manager is friendly and listens. Communication is very open, and we can talk to them anytime, even at night”

People positively embraced the opportunities to regularly access local community services and build meaningful links... Examples include ‘Hatzfeld Hammers’ football team, themed events such as Chinese New Year, disco nights, pumpkin picking, and Veteran Friendly framework.
