The red service light was illuminated on mattress pumps in 8 bedrooms indicating a service was due. Staff had not responded promptly... Fire safety was not well managed as we identified issues... hole in the ceiling... oxygen cylinder, which was not secured.
Staff spoke optimistically about the new managers... “It feels more positive now across the team. I've not heard anything bad that staff can't approach the manager.”
We received mixed feedback from people and their relatives as to whether there were enough staff to respond in a timely way when they needed assistance. One person told us, “I have to shout and shout until they [care staff] come to move me.”
Staff had recently received infection control training... Some domestic staff could not explain what they needed to do in the event of an outbreak... some staff completed their mandatory training in their own time at home.

Per 2023 comprehensive inspection: There was a dedicated member of staff who supported people to engage in a range of activities and social events. One person told us, "We play bingo, and we go outside and get fresh air."

One person told us, “I have to shout and shout until they [care staff] come to move me. Then they say they need help and go off to get someone else.”
Risks like faulty equipment and poor infection control were missed by staff and audits, creating unsafe working conditions.
Risks we identified in the environment had not been identified and raised by staff internally. For example... red service light was illuminated on mattress pumps in 8 bedrooms... Staff had not responded promptly... various infection prevention and control (IPC) concerns.
