Systems were in place to protect people from the risk of abuse. Risk assessments were in place which included information about how to mitigate risks people faced. The provider sought to learn lessons when things go wrong. Accidents and incidents were recorded and reviewed.

Staff told us there was an open and positive culture at the service and they praised the management team. One staff member said, 'I am very happy with my colleagues. Its good team work which makes everything easy.'

We observed there were enough staff during our inspection to meet people's needs. Staff told us they had enough time to carry out their duties.

Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: Records showed staff undertook regular training, including in health and safety, infection control, dementia care and equality and diversity. Staff had one to one supervision meetings with the manager.

Staff told us there was an open and positive culture at the service and they praised the management team. One staff member said of the deputy manager, 'They are very calm. If you have a problem, they will deal with it straight away.'

Per 2019 comprehensive inspection: A part time activities coordinator was employed who provided structured activities in the afternoons. This included bingo, ball games and exercises. A relative told us, 'They bring a dog in.'
