The provider had a proactive and positive culture of safety... Staff managed medicines well. Notable improvements had been made to medicines management with one administrative improvement required [immediately addressed].
Staff spoke positively of the support they received from the management team, who were visible, accessible and approachable. One staff member said of the improvements... they were like ’night and day’.
There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience to care for people... We did receive some feedback regarding the use of agency staff. We were told people’s continuity of care was interrupted.
Managers made sure staff received training and regular supervisions to maintain high-quality care. External trainers were also commissioned to provide training on diabetes management, oral healthcare and mental capacity act training.
At the time of our assessment there was not a registered manager in post. A temporary manager had been in post since December 2024 and was now in the process of applying to be the registered manager.
An activities co-ordinator provided a range of activities for people including engaging with the local community and staff encouraged and supported people to participate.
