Risks to people's safety and well-being were managed through an effective risk management process. Medicines were managed safely... There was a learning culture at the home... sharp decrease of incidents within the home over the last 12 months.
Staff involved in the inspection demonstrated a genuine passion for the roles they performed... Without exception, the staff spoke positively about the provider and registered manager. They confirmed they felt very well supported... their morale was high.
There was high ratio of staff as well as a very low turnover that meant people benefitted from continuity of care. Each person, relative and staff member we spoke with felt that staffing levels were excellent at the home.
There had been a significant investment in staff training and development... Several staff attended university and a number of staff had graduated with foundation degrees in health and social care. The registered manager was in the process of creating an academy suite.
The home was exceptionally well led. The provider and registered manager had complete oversight of the home and were at the forefront of it.
There was two dedicated wellbeing coordinators who worked at the home seven days a week. A weekly activities program was in place which had been designed by people and staff together... themed events such as VIP Valentine's day meal and Chinese New Year celebrations.
