People were protected from harm and abuse... Medicines were managed safely. We observed a medicine round and the correct procedures were undertaken... Lessons were learnt when things went wrong.

There was a positive culture in the service... Staff said the management team was approachable and they felt supported... 'It is a great staff team. We are like a family.'

Enough qualified and experienced staff were deployed to meet people's needs in a timely way. Rotas confirmed the level of staff deployed was consistent. One staff member said, 'There are always enough staff on shift to support people.'

Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: Staff members had received an induction into the service when they first started working, and had the opportunity to shadow experienced members of the staff team. Relevant training had also been provided including safe moving of people, health and safety, safeguarding and dementia awareness.

Staff said the management team was approachable and they felt supported. One staff member told us, 'The registered manager is supportive.' Another staff member told us 'The registered manager gets things done.'

Per 2018 comprehensive inspection: The service employed an activity coordinator for 30 hours a week... people were encouraged to join in a ball game... eight people were seen enjoying a flower arranging class... 'the man comes with all the animals... musical movement and... singers.'
