Working at Fairmount

People were protected from the risk of abuse or neglect. Staff were knowledgeable about safeguarding and how to keep people safe... Learning was identified and acted on when things went wrong.

Staff told us they enjoyed working at the home and felt well supported.

The registered manager told us they used some regular agency staff currently for cover but had recently recruited more permanent staff.

Records confirmed that staff had completed training relevant to people's care and support needs including training in dementia. Staff told us they thought they had sufficient training to meet people's needs.

Staff commented favourably on the registered manager and said they were visible in the home and would step in to help them if this was needed. One staff member said, 'We have good working relationships here, there is good communication. The manager is approachable. We work well together.'

There was a varied activities programme 7 days a week, supported by the activities team. An activity planner was available which gave people information about the range of activities they could engage in each day.
